Iran, Egypt discuss the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip

Tehran, (ST) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed in a phone call yesterday ways to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza Strip.

Abdullahian pointed to the continuation of consultations between Iran and Egypt regarding the brutal attacks launched by the Zionist entity against civilians in Gaza and the West Bank. He stressed the importance of the upcoming meeting of heads of Islamic countries scheduled to be held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Abdullahian expressed his country’s readiness to continue joint consultations between Tehran and Cairo in this regard.

Abdullahian also confirmed his country’s readiness to send humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip via Egypt.

In turn, Shoukry praised the positions of Iran and the Arab and Islamic countries on delivering international humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza and Egypt’s role in this regard. He stressed the continuation of bilateral and multilateral consultations to help stop the Israeli aggression against Gaza and send humanitarian aid to its people.

Abdullahian yesterday discussed with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the latest developments on the Palestinian arena.

A meeting of leaders of Islamic countries is scheduled to be held soon in Riyadh at the request of the Iranian President and the leaders of some other countries, including Saudi Arabia as the head of the current session and the country in which the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is located.
