Iran Describes Arab League Claims as ‘Baseless’

Tehran –  Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi in a statement on Wednesday described the Arab League’s four-member committee’s allegations as ‘baseless and a blame game’.

Issuing such anti-Iranian statement on the occasion of September 11 attack is a blame game to deviate the public opinion about those countries’ support for terrorism, Qasemi said in his statement.

He referred to certain Arab countries’ role in war on Yemen and noted that the quartet committee’s member-states are responsible for the catastrophic situation in Yemen.

Iran has helped the regional countries upon their requests and non-intervention policy is part of Iran’s foreign policy doctrine, the diplomat said.

He urged the Arab committee to respond to Iran’s initiatives for dialogue in the region to resolve the problems instead of following Iranophobia policies dictated to them by certain powers.
