Iran Deputy FM Consults with Syrian Counterpart from Lausanne by Phone

Tehran – Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari consulted with Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad from Lausanne International Conference on Syria Saturday.

Jaberi Ansari was in Lausanne, Switzerland, with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to attend International Conference on Syria.

In a telephone conversation with Faisal Mekdad, Jaberi Ansari reviewed the latest developments in Syria.

International Conference on Syria kicked off in Lausanne on Saturday afternoon local time in presence of foreign ministers of Iran, Russia, US, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Egypt and Qatar.

In Lausanne, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Iraqi counterpart Ibrahim al-Ja’fari held consultations on Syria in Lausanne on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Zarif conferred with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov before the conference opened.
