Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami says US President Donald Trump is endangering global security by violating international rules and humanitarian principles.
He made the remarks on Tuesday upon arrival at the Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow, where he is set to attend the eighth Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS).
Hatami said that the three-day event provides a good opportunity for officials and politicians from different countries to exchange views on security issues in today’s world.
“Today, the most important issue is Trumpism in the world, which has a feature similar to Nazism,” said the defense chief, adding that the US president “poses a great danger to global security due to characteristics such as selfishness, oppression and violations of humanitarian principles and international regulations.”
Organizing conferences helps provide an opportunity to deliberate and discuss such threats, he said, adding that in this way, the participating countries could develop a common strategy in dealing with the situation and work towards building a more secure world.
The Iranian defense minister is scheduled to deliver a speech at the Moscow summit and meet with his counterparts on the sidelines of the event.
