Iran criticizes failure to include Israeli entity and forces of aggression against Yemen on the list of violators of children’s rights
Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, Majid Takht Ravanchi, strongly criticized the failure to include the Israeli entity and the forces of aggression against Yemen on the black list of violators of children’s rights.
During the UN Security Council meeting on the issue of children and armed clashes, Takht Ravanchi said that “the most systematic and arbitrary violations of children’s rights in the Middle East are being carried out by the Israeli entity, which commits war crimes and crimes against humanity in violation of basic international principles,” stressing that the officials of this entity must be prosecuted for committing such heinous crimes.
Takht Ravanchi pointed out that the United Nations documented the killing and wounding of thousands of children in Yemen during the attacks of the forces of aggression on this country, surprising the UN organizations’ disregard for the severe violations of the rights of Yemeni children by these forces.
Takht Ravanchi stressed that protecting children in armed conflicts is a protection for our future societies, saying, “This is a lofty humanitarian responsibility, and we must take it seriously and exert all our energies to preserve and protect children from the damages of wars and conflicts.”
