Iran congratulates Syria on the success of the presidential elections and the election of President Al-Assad

Tehran (ST): Iran congratulated the people and government of Syria on the success of the presidential elections and the election of President Bashar Al-Assad as President of the Syrian Arab Republic. 

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that the successful holding of the presidential elections and the broad participation of the Syrian people in them is an important step in establishing stability, reconstruction and prosperity in Syria.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry added that  Iran respects the decision of the Syrian people and supports their right to determine the future of their country without any external interference, and congratulates President al-Assad on his decisive victory in these elections.
