TEHRAN – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian lashed out at the western countries for supporting terrorism and extremism in the Middle East, FNA reported.
“From the very outset of the crisis in Syria, the Islamic Republic of Iran repeatedly warned the West and some regional countries not to exploit terrorism,” Amir Abdollahian said.
He reiterated that the negative consequences of exploiting terrorism have affected the whole region and the international community.
Amir Abdollahian urged the West and some regional countries to avoid dubious policies towards terrorism.
He pointed to Iran’s support for the regional countries in their fight against terrorism, and said, “Iran will vigorously continue fighting terrorism in the region at the request of and in full coordination and cooperation with the governments of Syria and Iraq.”
Iranian officials have repeatedly reiterated that Tehran will continue supporting Syria and Iraq in their fight against the ISIL Takfiri terrorists by providing military advisors to those countries.
Iran has also refused to join US-led coalition against ISIL in Iraq and Syria.
