Iran’s representation to the United Nations reiterated the necessity of lifting the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria, stopping the looting of its wealth, and expediting the provision of the needs of its people.
During a meeting of the UN Security Council last night , the assistant representative of Iran to the United Nations, Zahra Ershaidi, indicated that the Syrian people have been suffering for more than 10 years from humanitarian problems as a result of terrorism and the war imposed on them, stressing in this regard that a serious political and moral responsibility rests with the international community towards Syria and its people.
Ershaidi called for helping Syria in the reconstruction process, including the rapid restoration of water, health, treatment, education and housing facilities, stressing that her country will continue its support for Syria to overcome these challenges.
Ershaidi also stressed the necessity of the complete exit of foreign forces present on Syrian territory illegally, eliminating terrorists, and respecting the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
