Iran calls for emergency UN Security Council meeting to discuss brutal Israeli attacks on Lebanon

Tehran (ST)-
The Islamic Republic of Iran has requested an emergency session of the UN Security Council to discuss the ongoing brutal attacks and crimes committed by the Israeli entity in Lebanon and throughout the region
Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amir Saeed Irawani sent a letter yesterday to both UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the rotating President of the Security Council Samuel Zbogar, requesting an emergency session of the Council to discuss the ongoing Israeli terrorist attacks and crimes committed by this entity in Lebanon and throughout the region, and to prevent the region from sliding into a comprehensive war
Irawani said “Iran strongly warns against any attack on its diplomatic facilities and representatives, and rejects any attack that violates the basic principles of the inviolability of diplomatic and consular premises .”
Irawani stressed that “Iran will not hesitate to take any action in defense of its vital national and security interests, in accordance with international law .”
