Head of the Iranian Nuclear Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi, announced that his country has completed Step 4 in terms of reducing its commitment to the nuclear deal.
In a statement today, Salehi indicated that within this step, one of the sections at the Fordo nuclear site has been activated, through which the Uranium will be enriched through 1044 centrifuges.
He pointed out that Iran had pledged in the nuclear agreement not to use this number in the field of enrichment, but according to the programs to reduce pledges towards the agreement, the enrichment will be based on the country’s need and the storage of enriched materials.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced in a tweet last November the start with the implementation of the fourth step of Iran’s reduction of its nuclear obligations stipulated in the nuclear agreement by starting the process of pumping gas into 1044 centrifuges at the Fordo site, in response to European countries’ non-fulfillment of their obligations in this regard.
