Iran announces arrest of all those involved in the Shiraz terrorist attack

Tehran, (ST) – The Iranian Ministry of Security announced the arrest of all those involved in the terrorist attack on a religious shrine in the city of Shiraz. The ministry also announced the arrest of other terrorists who entered the country to carry out operations similar to this attack.

The ministry said in a statement on Monday that the arrests of 26 Takfiri terrorists, all of whom are foreigners from Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan. It added that the series of monitoring, investigations and operations that have been carried out so far led to the identification and arrest of all elements involved in planning, carrying out and supporting the terrorist act in Shiraz.

A number of other terrorists who entered the country to carry out similar operations were arrested in total, 26 Takfiri terrorists have been arrested so far.

The statement pointed out that the aforementioned terrorists were pursued and arrested in the provinces of Fars, Tehran, Alborz, Kerman, Qom and Khorasan Razavi, and some of them were arrested on the eastern borders while fleeing the country.

A terrorist from ISIS had opened fire on citizens inside the shrine of Ahmed bin Musa Al-Kadhim Shagrag in the city of Shiraz, killing 15 people, including women and children, and wounding 27 others.
