Iran among Five World Mineral Processing Research Centers

The Supervisor of Iranian Mineral Processing Research Center (IMPRC) said that the country is among five world Mineral Processing Research Centers and first in the Middle East.

Gholamreza Mollataheri told IRNA on Saturday that Iran has made remarkable achievements in the field of mineral research processing.

He noted that prior to the implementation of the landmark nuclear deal, better known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), sanctions had disconnected Iran’s international relations in the field of mineral research processing but currently serious steps are being taken to boost Tehran’s international ties and status in this connection.

The official added that hosting of the 1st international symposium on mineral processing which is to be held in Tehran on October 25-26 would help the country use experiences of the world prominent experts, seniors and pundits in the field.

Mollataheri said that a number of representatives from Canada, South Africa, Australia and Finland are to participate in the event.

He added that the 3rd workshop of iron ore and base metals processing aiming at developing ties and interactions with the neighboring and other regional countries will be also held coincident with the two-day symposium.

Experts from the members of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), namely Turkey, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan and Azerbaijan will take part in the workshop.
