International Red Cross: What is happening in Gaza cannot be tolerated

The President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Mirjana Spolijaric, called on the world to take action to end the suffering of the people in the Gaza Strip, stressing the need not to tolerate what is happening in Gaza.

Agence France-Presse quoted Spolijaric as saying: “It is unacceptable that civilians do not have a safe place to take refuge in Gaza amid the intense bombardment,”

Spolijaric added that the military siege imposed with the lack of an adequate humanitarian response to what is happening there has created a catastrophic situation that the world must not tolerate .
