International Justice Imposes Provisional Measures Against Israel, Demanding Respect for The Convention on The Prevention of Genocide  

The International Court of justice today imposed a number of provisional measures on the Israeli occupation entity regarding the case filed by South Africa against it, including the need to take all measures to prevent acts prohibited by the convention on the Prevention of genocide, and to ensure the immediate provision of urgent humanitarian needs to the Gaza Strip.

During the hearing held at its headquarters to issue a preliminary decision in the South African lawsuit against Israel for committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, the court announced its acceptance of the lawsuit and rejected the request of “Israel“ to dismiss it, indicating that it took into account the concern of independent human rights officials of Israeli hate speech against Palestinians. The court also decided that” Israel ” must prevent incitement to genocide in the Gaza Strip, punish all those who incite it, and that measures must be taken to preserve evidence related to the commission of genocide and prevent its destruction.

The International Court of Justice confirmed that the reports and evidence presented in South Africa’s claim that Israel committed genocide in the Gaza Strip are logical, demanding that “Israel” submit a report on its response to the measures mentioned within a month from the date of the decision, as the court recognized the right of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip to be protected under the convention on the Prevention of genocide.

The president of the Court, Judge Joan E. Donoghue, said: “South Africa has the right to file a lawsuit and Israel’s request to dismiss it cannot be accepted, and we have the power to rule on emergency measures in the genocide case against Israel.

She added that the court recognizes the right of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to be protected from acts of genocide, and that many Palestinians in the Strip do not have access to water, food and the basics of life.

On the twenty-ninth of last December, South Africa filed a lawsuit against” Israel “the occupying power for committing acts of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and submitted to the court an 84-page  file gathering evidence of the killing of” Israel ” thousands of Palestinians in the strip, creating conditions causing physical destruction, which is considered a genocide crime against them, and the lawsuit was supported by dozens of countries.
