International Harp player Alexander Boldachev: Syrian musicians are excellent performers and respect work and art

As part of his world tour,  international Harp player and musician Alexander Buldachev has arrived in Syria with the aim of holding specialized training workshops and a solo evening.

On December 15, Boldachev started his visit by attending a musical evening for the National Symphony Orchestra at Al-Assad House for Culture and Arts.

“During the musical evening  Syrian Rahaf Sheikhani performed one of the difficult works of the Nutcracker Ballet of Tchaikovsky that caught my attention and appreciation,” Boldachev said after the music party.

Boldachev said that during his visit he will train youth and children in specialized workshops at the Higher Institute of Music and Institute of Salhi Al-Wadi.

Boldachev works with the Shekhani Harp player in preparation for the International Day of the Harp, scheduled for September 2020.

 Regarding his music party, which  will be held  on December 17on the stage of the Drama Theater in Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts, Boldachev said: “The music program will be varied, as I will present music from my country Russia and a modern one in addition to presenting a special piece of my composition entitled (The Holy Spirit) dedicated to the spirit of Saint Ephrem who lived in Syria in the third century AD ”

For his part, Director General of Dar Al-Assad for Musique and Art (the Damascus Opera House) Maestro Andrei Maalouli said that Buldachev is one of the most important Harp players in the world.

Rahaf Sheikhani, the teacher of the Harp instrument, and a player in the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra, said that the roots of this instrument originate from our region.
