DAMASCUS, (ST)_ The Interior Ministry has denied all rumors claiming puncturing personal Identity Cards and online voting in the event of not being able to come to the polling centers as well as the promotion of false news about cutting the road between the city centers and the Syrian rural areas during the election day, indicating that these rumors aim at influencing the democratic atmosphere of the presidential elections that will take place tomorrow.
In a statement, the ministry explained that no signal will be put on the identity card or passport for any eligible voter and that voting will be in person for the voters the polling stations and that the ministry will take all measures to facilitate the entry and exit of people to and from the centers of cities.
The ministry confirmed that it will deal with the promoters of these rumors according to enforced laws and regulations.
“The election process begins, Tuesday,at seven o’clock am, June 3rd, 2014 AD and continues without interruption until seven o’clock evening, and in the case of the high turnout, the election period will be extended at the decision of the Supreme judicial Committee for Elections.” The ministry emphasized.
