Initiative to handover Syrian dossier to the ICC is counterproductive, says Moscow

Moscow believes that the initiative to handover the Syrian dossier to the International Criminal Court is ill-timed and counterproductive.

The key task in Syria is to achieve a ceasefire, says Russian Foreign Ministry statement.

The ministry believes that speculations about the international criminal persecution and search for those who are responsible will only help the rival sides to toughen their uncompromising positions and complicate searches for ways to solve the conflict peacefully,according to Voice of Russia, TASS

On Monday, Switzerland on behalf of 56 countries submitted a collective appeal to the UN Security Council to handover the Syrian dossier to the ICC.
