“Israel” informs Washington that it targeted an Iranian ship, says US official

Washington, (ST) – An American official said that, the Israeli occupation entity informed the United States of its responsibility for the attack on the Iranian ship Iran Saviz in the Red Sea waters.

The American New York Times quoted the official, who requested anonymity, as saying that “Israel informed the United States and its forces that it had targeted the Iranian ship.”

The Iranian Tasnim Agency announced that, the (Iran Saviz) ship was attacked last night in the waters of the Red Sea by  putting marine mines in its hull. The Agency indicated that, the ship has been working in the region for several years with other commercial ships.

Last month, an Iranian merchant ship was hit by a terrorist attack in the international waters of the Mediterranean, which led to a partial fire that was brought under control.
