DAMASCUS, (ST)- The foreign delegations which visit Syria can support the country by conveying the truth about what is really going on in Syria to the people in their countries, Information Minister Omran al-Zoui’bi has underscored.
Al-Zou’bi, who made the remarks on Monday during his meeting with members of the delegation of the European Solidarity Front for Syria (ESFS), stressed the important role visiting foreign delegations can play to uncover the misleading reports and fabrications circulated in the western media outlets about Syria events.
“These delegations can tell the world that Syria is fighting terrorists coming from all around the world and evidence about this fact are abundant,” added the minister.
“The scene in Syria has become evident to all..It is a war against takfiri terrorism backed by Arab and western regimes,” the minister said, stressing that by confronting terrorism, the Syrians are defending the entire world, because terrorism has become a danger that recognizes no borders.
Al-Zou’bi pointed out that the American sought to carry on implementing the so-called “creative chaos” project in the region can’t be realized except through dividing Syria, noting that the Saudi and Turkish regimes have been completely involved in the terrorist war on Syria by providing financial support to the terrorists and supplying them with sophisticated weapons and more terrorists.
Al-Zou’bi affirmed the ministry’s readiness to cooperate with all media delegations that want to visit Syria.
More than 800 media missions visited Syria in 2015 and some media channels are trying to return to Syria after they realized that their absence from the Syrian scene and their insistence to adopt the views of only one side has led them to lose credibility, according to al-Zou’bi.
On their part, members of the guest European delegation affirmed their solidarity with Syria and stressed that their mission focuses on conveying the Syrians’ voice to the Europeans.
In a statement to SANA, head of the European Front delegation “Robin Rozires” said the delegation comprised activists from Belgium, Germany and Poland who are greatly interested in the humanitarian situation in Syria. He said he was confident that Syria will triumph over terrorism soon.
He pointed out that many people abroad want to visit Syria to get true information about events there.
He stressed the need to tell the Belgian government that 600 Belgians are fighting alongside the terrorists in Syria.
