Information Minister discusses with Bahrain’s Ambassador in Damascus cooperation in media sector

DAMASCUS, Jul.6, (ST)- The Minister of Information Boutros Al-Hallaq discussed with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Syria, Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, the ways of enhancing media cooperation between the two countries.

During the discussion, which was held on Wednesday at the ministry’s headquarters, the two sides talked about the memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries in the media field, stressing the importance of developing an executive program to activate the memoranda signed between the Syrian Arab News Agency “SANA” and the Bahrain News Agency on the one hand, and between the Public Authority for Radio and Television and the Bahrain Information Affairs Authority on the other.

According to the Arab News Agency (SANA), The two sides stressed the need to hold training courses  and exchange experiences in various media fields with the aim of improving media performance at all levels.

Al-Hallaq spoke during the meeting about the negative effects and repercussions of the terrorist war that has been waged on Syria for more than 11 years and the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people in all sectors, including the media sector.

For his part, Bahrain’s Ambassador affirmed his country’s support for Syria’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and refusal to interfere in its internal affairs.
