Inflation in the United States has risen to the highest level in 41 years

Washington (ST): The US Department of Labor announced that inflation in the United States continued to rise, reaching 8.5 percent on an annual basis during the current month, its highest level since 1981.

The media reported that consumer prices on a monthly basis in the United States rose by 1.2, to record the largest increase since September 2005.

The rising inflation comes with rising fuel, housing and food prices making it difficult for low-income Americans.
