Industrialists in Damascus call for facilitating the importation of raw materials necessary for industry

Damascus (ST) – The industrialists in Damascus and its countryside have called for eliminating the obstacles facing their work and providing appropriate facilitations that support the continuation of the work of industrial facilities, the employment of manpower, supplying the local market with key products and exporting the surplus to foreign markets.

During the meeting of the General Commission of the Chamber of Industry of Damascus and its Countryside on Tuesday, the industrialists called for allowing the importation of raw materials needed for industry and for providing necessary facilitations to enable the industrialists to secure their needs at the appropriate speed and for securing enough fuel supplies.

Minister of Industry Abdul Qadir Jokhadar indicated that developments in the Arab arena pave the way for restoring stability and progress, which requires tackling the current challenges facing the industrial sector, developing strategic plans and working with a common vision to provide the best solutions.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Industry of Damascus and its countryside Muhammad Ghazwan Al-Masri stressed that the Chamber of Industry looks with great interest at the new Arab openness, which requires cooperation and partnership with the government to take decisions that support the production process.
