Bali-Indonesia (ST) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo called on the G20 member states to avoid another cold war between the major powers.
“We must not divide the world into parts, and we must not allow the world to fall into another cold war,” Widodo said today at the opening of the G20 summit in Bali, according to France Press.
The Indonesian president added that this bloc of the major economies in the world must succeed in addressing the most urgent global crises. He added that the world is looking at us today to see whether we will achieve success or add another failure.
For his part, Chinese President Xi Jinping, in his speech at the summit, renewed his rejection of the sanctions policy pursued by Western countries. He stressed the need to promote a more comprehensive and flexible global development.
Xi also warned against politicizing food and energy problems and turning them into weapons.
The G20 summit opened its work this morning in the resort of Nusa Dua on the island of Bali in Indonesia, where the leaders will discuss the most important challenges in the world, and it will conclude its work tomorrow.
