Indian Transport Minister: We Want to Develop Economic Relations with Syria

New Delhi- India’s Minister of State for Transport, Fertilizers and Chemical Industries, Hans Mandavia, reiterated his country’s support for Syria.

During his meeting with Syrian Ambassador to India Dr. Riyad Abbas, he praised Syria’s victory over terrorism, which came as a result of the sacrifices made by the Syrian Arab Army and the steadfastness of the people and its leadership, expressing his desire to visit Syria to develop bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in the fields of transport and manufacturing industries.

For his part, Ambassador Abbas expressed Syria’s desire to cooperate with the friendly countries in the reconstruction phase and to implement the orientation policy in the east, stressing the deep historical ties that link the peoples of the two friendly countries

Mr. Abbas noted India’s positions towards Syria during the crisis, stressing that the bilateral relations between the two countries are witnessing a positive and tangible development in many political, economic and cultural aspects.
