Indian Embassy in Damascus holds an Iftar banquet on the anniversary of the launch of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Program
Damascus (ST): The Indian Embassy in Damascus on Tuesday held a Ramadan Iftar banquet on the occasion of the anniversary of the launch of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Program (ITEC), at the Dama Rose Hotel.
In his speech, Chargé d’Affaires of the Indian Embassy in Damascus, Satender Kumar Yadav, affirmed that India and Syria have friendly relations, and both countries support each other at all levels in international forums. The continuation of ITEC programs in providing vocational training to partner countries such as Syria is an affirmation of continued cooperation, the Syrian-Indian friendship, and the strong and well-established relationship between the two countries.
Yadav pointed out that the “ITEC” program is a program based on requirements and response that focuses mainly on the needs of developing countries, and it covers various areas of training for employees and includes a wide range of sectors such as information technology, language skills, banking, administration and scientific fields, indicating that the number of Syrian beneficiaries from the program reached more than 2000 trainees.
In his turn, the Chairman of the Planning and International Cooperation Authority, Dr. Fadi Salti Al-Khalil, praised in his speech the deep-rooted historical relations between Syria and India, pointing to the importance of the agreements, memorandums of understanding and the executive program signed between the two countries, especially that India is one of the largest strategic partners in the economic, technological and cultural fields.
