India, Mexico, Ireland and Norway elected non-permanent members of the UNSC

New York (ST): The UN General Assembly has elected India, Mexico, Ireland and Norway as new non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for the forthcoming two years.

France Press Agency said that India got 184 votes, Ireland 128, Norway 130 and Mexico 187.

Kenya and Djibouti are trying today  to win the vote for an additional seat for non-permanent member states.

The UN Security Council comprises 15 member states, five of them are permanent ( Russia, Britain, China, France, the US) and the other ten are non-permanent elected every two years.
