A gold, three silver and two bronze medals for Syria in the Tunisian International Athletics Championships

The Syrian national athletics team won six medal-one gold, three silver and two bronze at the end of the international tournament that was held in Rades, Tunisia. 

480 male and female athletes representing 64 countries participated in the international tournament.

Syrian national team achieves two medals in the Tunis International Special Athletics Championships

Tunis (ST): The Syrian national team for special athletics won two gold and silver medals on the first day of the international tournament currently held in Rades, Tunisia. 

Mohammad Khalid Mohammed won the gold medal in the javelin throwing, scoring a distance of 41.68 meters in the "F57" classification, while Ali Asa’ad won the silver by throwing the disc, scoring a distance of 32.50 meters in the "F11" classification, breaking his previous record of 31.50. meters.

It is noteworthy that the international tournament comes within the preparations of our team for the Tokyo Olympics, which will be held next June.


Ahmad Hamsho qualifies to World Championship in Sweden

DAMASCUS,(ST)_The Syrian equestrian Ahmad Hamsho has qualified for the World Championship to be held at the end of this month in Sweden .He is ranked  third in the Arabian Horse jumping competition.
By the end of 2019, Hamsho, 28-years-old, was qualified to Tokyo Olympiad after Syria topped the G7 within the groups of the international union of the game.

Syrian-Iraqi talks in the field of sports and youth

The Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports Adnan Darjal, and the Syrian ambassador to Baghdad, Satam Jadaan Al-Dandah, stressed on Wednesday the importance of youth and sports cooperation between Syria and Iraq.

"The two sides emphasized the importance of activating memoranda of understanding and agreements in youth and sports affairs, exchanging expertise and visits and holding joint activities," the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports said in  a statement.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Dandah expressed his confidence in the future boosting of  bilateral relations and the activation of cooperation frameworks in youth and sports.

Syrian horsemanship shines again in international championships of show jumping

Syrian horsemanship has returned to its former glory in the international championships of show jumping, after a break from outside participation since last year due to the spread of Corona pandemic, which affected sports around the world.

In the Sharjah International Show Jumping Championship held recently, the Syrian jockeys  achieved good results.  Captain Yasser Al-Sharif got the fourth place and the Amr Hamsho won the fifth place, as part of the 130-cm category match, whose competitions were held with the participation of 58 knights.
