In Tehran Book Fair, two books documenting two important stages in history of Syria translated into Persian

On the sidelines of the Tehran International Book Fair, two books were translated into Persian.These books were written by Dr. Buthaina Shaaban, Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, one of them entitled “Ten Years with Hafez Al-Assad 1990-2000” and the second entitled “The Edge of the Abyss, a Document of a Homeland”.

In a speech during the ceremony, Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Dr. Shafiq Dayyob said, “The two books were translated into Persian by Ramin Hossein Abadian and published by the Iranian Culture and Press Foundation.They are important because they document two very pivotal stages in Syria’s modern and contemporary history.

Ambassador Dayyoub stressed the importance of extensive and intensive participation in book fairs and other cultural events held in the two countries and the importance of strengthening cultural and media cooperation between Syria and Iran to rise to the level of political and strategic relations.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, Ambassador Dayyoub met with Iranian Minister of Health Bahram Ain Allah and discussed with him bilateral cooperation in the medical and treatment fields and areas of common interest.

 

Ambassador Dayyoub also met the Assistant Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance and Head of the Book Fair, Yasser Ahmed Wend, and they discussed ways of bilateral cooperation in the field of printing and publishing books in various disciplines.

The activities of the Tehran International Book Fair in its thirty-third session began on the tenth of this month.
