In protest against its position on the aggression against Gaza, British activists throw red paint on the Labor Party building
British environmental and anti-violence organizations organized a protest in front of the headquarters of the Labor Party in the center of the British capital, to denounce the Labor Party’s position on the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza. The protestors demanded an end to the export of weapons to the Israeli occupation entity.
The British newspaper The Telegraph reported that activists from the “Youth Demand” and “Just Stop Oil” environmental organizations sprayed red paint on the exterior and lobby of the Labor Party building in Southwark and chanted that “the hands of Labor Party officials are stained with blood,” accusing the party of complicity in the killing of Palestinians and of supporting Israel which continues its genocide against the defenseless people in Gaza.
In turn, the British police arrested a number of protesters, as a London police spokesman said: “Twelve people were arrested on suspicion of committing criminal damage to a commercial property after demonstrators sprayed paint inside and outside the building.”
Dozens of activists from the “Youth Demand” organization had previously organized a demonstration in central London, all the way to Parliament Square, raising the Palestinian flag and banners condemning the brutal war on Gaza, and calling on the Conservative (ruling) and Labor (opposition) parties to impose a ban on the export of weapons to “Israel.”
