Homs, (ST) – Fifty-five young talents displayed dozens of paintings within the collective (Kahraman) art exhibition, which was hosted by the Exhibition Hall at the Cultural Center in Homs.
Regarding the exhibition, which was launched by the Junior Chamber International in Homs, Dr. Samia Sarkis, head of the Chamber in Homs, explained to SANA that the exhibition aims to shed light on young talents in the field of drawing and photography by introducing them to the community and publishing their news through the chamber’s official page.
According to Sarkis, this exhibition, which was held in cooperation with the Homs Chamber of Industry and in partnership with the Junior Chamber International in Lattakia, aims to support young talents in the two governorates, noting the great turnout to participate in the exhibition, where 123 participants submitted, their works were evaluated and the best were selected.
Mary Noel Al-Akhras, the project manager for the current year, stated that the Kahraman project is a continuation of last year’s project based on the request of the participants who increased this year. Arbitrators specialized in drawing and photography selected the participating works for this year, Al-Akhras added, stressing this age group needs for support, which the JCI seeks to achieve by providing them with supportive opportunities.
About her participation in the exhibition, Samah Al-Daher said that she presented two different paintings using various colors that reflect the joy and accuracy of the works. As for Hala Osama Al-Khaled, she said that she participated with three paintings, considering that the exhibition provided her with a real opportunity to show her talent and introduce her work.
The young painter Ali Muhammad, who participated in the exhibition with several portraits, believes that the exhibition constitutes a real support for young talents, which gives them a real opportunity to be creative in this field as well as to introduce their works.
The photographer Najib Mansour presented several paintings of the old neighborhoods of Damascus. The painter, Dr. Hosam Omran, participated with several paintings dealing with psychological distress, indicating that it is his second participation in the remarkably successful Kahraman exhibition.
Linda Bashar Al-Khankan participated with paintings about violence against women and returning to the homeland, while Zina Atassi participated with one painting entitled (Scattered Dreams), in which she embodied the great suffering of young people under the current difficult circumstances, indicating that it was her second participation in the Kahraman exhibition.
Muhammad Salama participated with three paintings through which he showed the details of the faces, and another painting in which he compared joy and anger. As for the young Diana Hajj Salama, she indicated that it is her first participation in the exhibition, stressing that it is a real opportunity for her to show her talent in drawing.
Director of the Ornina Cultural Forum, writer Raymond Kabrun, considered the exhibition an opportunity to encourage young people, indicating that the artistic levels of the participants in the exhibition are generally good.
Amal Farhat
