The participants in the celebration stressed the importance of preserving the tree and restoring the green cover of the city, and the need for concerted efforts by everyone to replant trees that were burned and vandalized as a result of terrorism.
The Director of Agriculture in Deir Ezzor, Eng. Fouad Abdoun, confirmed that the site of the panorama was chosen at the southern entrance of the city and the vicinity of the Deir Ezzor cemetery to celebrate the Tree Festival, after the trees were vandalized and burned by the armed terrorist organizations.
The planting bid aims at restoring the vegetation cover around the city of Deir Ezzor which has a green fence that protects the city from dust storms, and gives an aesthetic appearance to the city’s entrances.
In his turn, the head of the Forestry Department, Eng. Muhammad Al-Omair, stated that the trees that have been planted are of the approved forest varieties, such as cypress, pine, umbrella tree and fan palm, pointing out that the department will water the trees and take care of them during the coming period.
