Imam Khamenei expresses his wishes for a speedy recovery to President Bashar Al-Assad

On March 15th, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Imam Sayed Ali Khamenei, expressed his wishes for a speedy recovery for President Bashar Al-Assad from infection with the coronavirus.

During his meeting with the Syrian ambassador to Tehran, Dr. Shafiq Dayoub,Advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution for International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati conveyed Khamenei’s message regarding the reassurance of President al-Assad’s health and his wishes for a speedy recovery.

 

“President Al-Assad is a strong and courageous leader who played a very valuable and important role in preserving Syria’s independence,” the Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Velayati as saying.

Velayati said: “ From the point of view of the leader of the Islamic revolution, President Al-Assad is a distinguished personality and one of the great leaders worthy of praise in his country, the region and the resistance front.”

Velayati described Syria as one of the pillars of resistance in the region.

Velayati stressed that the cooperation between the governments and peoples of the two countries is growing.
