ILO calls for supporting Syria to mitigate the effects of the earthquake
Geneva (ST): The International Labor Organization called for urgent support for Syria to help it mitigate the effects of the devastating earthquake that hit it last month.
According to the United Nations Information Office, Director-General of the International Labor Organization Gilbert Hongbo, promoting employment opportunities is essential to a successful and inclusive response to the earthquake.
He added: We owe it to those who lost a lot due to the earthquake, to ensure that the principles of social justice and decent work are integrated into the recovery and reconstruction process.
