“Illuminating Visions” for professional and amateur photographers

The Arab cultural center of Abu Rummaneh held a photography exhibition entitled “Illuminating Visions”, in which photographers in Damascus depicted various social subjects.

The photographers displayed 35 subjects dealt with landscapes, portraits, in addition to old Damascus. They used computer techniques and programs to add meanings to their photos.

Ya’aroub Maarouf, The organizer of the event and the Cultural Official at Photographers’ Association, told Syria Times e-newspaper: “Our aim is to give an opportunity to everyone for participation…You can find various topics in the exhibition, such as portraits, nature, architecture, and pictures of some Damascene crafts and colors. Some photos are black and white.”

 Participant Hiba al- Kharsa said: “The goal of my participation in this exhibition is to develop my talent and have an experience in photography and to be acquainted with others experiences”.

Other participant, Afraa Mirshed displayed one photograph of chess in black and white to reflect transparency. She participated in the exhibition because of her love of photography.
