Ibrahim Hanano Poetry Festival celebrates Independence Day

Aleppo (ST):  Ibrahim Hanano Poetry Festival hosted by the National Library Theater in Aleppo celebrated the struggle of the Syrians in the face of the occupation and their attainment of their freedom on the Great Independence Day.

The festival, which was organized by the Aleppo branch of the Arab Writers Union, was attended by poets Ibrahim Kassar, Hassan Assi Al-Sheikh, Rana Radwan, Zakaria Massas, Abdel-Jawad Al-Saleh, Issam Tarkhani, Farhoud Al-Ahmad and Mahmoud Ali Al-Saeed.
The head of the Aleppo Book Branch, Dr. Ahmed Ziyad Mahbek, underlined the importance of the festival because it carries values and meanings that talk about the history of Syria and the struggle of its people within a continuous effort by the Writers Union to confirm the role of pioneering literature and its embrace of intellectuals, thinkers and researchers to revive the flame of the future.
Among the participants in the festival, the poet Hassan Assi Al-Sheikh mentioned that Independence Day  is the most  important holiday in which the blood of the martyrs blooms  to announce the dawn of freedom. He presented a poem inspired by the occasion, recalling the struggles of the Syrian people from the day of independence to this day in our war against terrorism.
