Vienna – Foreign Ministry Director General for Political and International Security Hamid Ba’eidinejadsaid that IAEA Board of Governors will confirm peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities, according to IRNA.
Ba’eidinejad , who is in Vienna to hold expert negotiations as a member of Iran-Group 5+1 joint commission, told reporters on Sunday that Iran and International Atomic Energy Agency in order to settle disputes over past problems have agreed upon a road map based on which Iran should present a series of information and certain accesses, enabling the agency to reach a points to announce its final assessment and declare PMD dossier, technically closed.
He added that now the agency has confirmed Iran has never deviated from its peaceful path in its nuclear activities and nothing has been done contrary to PMD contents.
Ba’eidinejad said that currently there are certain persons who do not want Iran’s nuclear dossier to be settled.
Concerning returns of Iran’s dossier from the UN Security Council to Board of Governors, Ba’eidinejad said that the UNSC has no role in determining the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, but the issue is totally in the hands of the agency and Board of Governors.
He said that the agency through its final report has declared Iran’s nuclear program as peaceful and therefore, the program is technically considered peaceful.
The member of Iran’s nuclear negotiating expert team said with closure of PMD case, the agency as a professional and specialized body and the Board of Governors as decision making organ will confirm the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.
Director General of IAEA Yukiya Amano presented his report to Board of Governors last Wednesday about possible military dimensions of Iran’s nuclear dossier.
