Hungary: We are working on the issue of paying for Russian gas in rubles

On April 7th, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto affirmed that his country is now working on a technical solution to the issue of paying for Russian gas in rubles, pointing out that energy supplies in Hungary were and will remain safe.

“Hungary will fulfill its obligation to pay Gazprom at the end of next May 2022,” Russia Today website quoted Szijjarto as saying during a joint press conference with his Serbian counterpart.

Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger had announced that he did not rule out that his country would be forced to buy natural gas from Russia in rubles, after President Vladimir Putin issued a decree in this regard.
