Hungarian President awards the Presidential Order of Merit to International Syrian Photographer Bahjat Iskandar

President Janos Ader of Hungary has awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit (Kossuth Prize 2022) to international Syrian photographer Bahjat Iskandar in appreciation of his artworks.

Iskandar is a Syrian expatriate in Hungary. He traveled to Hungary in 1967 to complete his higher studies. He took part in many international exhibitions and won more than 100 prizes for distinguished photography works and in recognition of his artistic career.

 He was awarded the Order of Merit -Knight degree- from the Hungarian President in 2008. He was also awarded the Order of Merit -officer degree- in 2012 and the highest order of ministerial merit given in Bulgaria in 2019.
