DAMASCUS, Jan.18, (ST)-A participatory service campaign entitled: “We Are Back, Damascus” is being launched today in Damascus.
It is the largest national campaign that includes cleaning squares and rehabilitating public facilities.
According to a video published by the Syrian Civil Defense on its Telegram channel, the campaign aims to restore life to neighborhoods in the city of Damascus, and brings together the efforts of hundreds of volunteers and humanitarian workers from 37 institutions and volunteer teams.
The Syrian Civil Defense clarified that the campaign is part of a series of campaigns that will be launched successively in the other governorates, pointing out that it is a message in which we share the initiative and determination to restore the spirit of the city of Damascus, which is full of hope and life.
In his speech during the start of the campaign, the Governor of Damascus Maher Mohammad Marwan asserted the importance of unifying efforts between official institutions and the local community to achieve the goals of the campaign, praising the active role of the volunteer teams and participating associations in embodying the values of teamwork to serve the ancient city.
He pointed out that “We are back, Damascus” is not just a campaign, but rather a call to return to the beauty of Damascus, and a celebration of its ancient heritage and bright present.
