Hundreds of Syrians Rally in Montreux to Support Syria

MONTREUX- Hundreds of Syrians abroad staged a sit-in in front of the media center, which is providing coverage of the activities of the International Conference on Syria (Geneva 2) being held in the Swiss city of Montreux, to express support for their homeland in confrontation of the heinous conspiracy hatched against Syria by Arab, regional and Western countries.

The participants, who raised the Syrian flag and chanted slogans saluting the Syrian Arab Army, affirmed their support for the Syrian leadership and their rejection of foreign intervention in Syria’s internal affairs.

In a related context, the Swiss police prevented hundreds of the Syrian communities’ members in a number of European countries from crossing into the Swiss territories to organize rallies in Montreux aiming to support Syria’s leadership and political solution to the crisis in Syria.

Sources of the Syrian community in Paris said that hundreds of Syrian community members in Europe, particularly in France, Belgium and Holland, waited for long at these countries’ borders with Switzerland. The Swiss authorities prevented them from entering the country and took the Syrian flags and the anti-terrorism placards from them.
