Hundreds of Displaced Syrians Return Home from Lebanon to Qalamoun in Damascus Countryside

DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, (ST)- Hundreds of displaced Syrians returned on Saturday from Lebanon to al-Qalamoun area in Damascus Countryside across al-Zamrani crossing within the Syrian government’s efforts to restore normal life to the areas liberated by the Syrian army from terrorism.

SANA reporter said that a third batch of displaced Syrians include tens of families most of them are children and women. They reached at the crossing at noon coming from the Lebanese city of Arsal and then they were transferred by buses to their homes in the villages and towns of Damascus Countryside, the reporter added.

 Syrian army personnel received the returnees who thanked the army for the great sacrifices it has offered as to restore security and stability to Qalamoun villages.

“Without a homeland, human beings have no dignity or future,” said some of the returnees, calling on all the Syrians who were forced to leave their country because of terrorism to return to their homes and start a normal life under the umbrella of the Syrian state and to contribute to rebuilding what terrorism has destroyed.

On June 28, some 450 displaced Syrians returned across al-Zamrani crossing to their homes in al-Jibbe, Asal al-Ward, Yabroud, Ras al-Maara and Flita in western Qalamoun as well as in al-Rheibeh, and Jeroud in eastern Qalamoun of Damascus Countryside.
