DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, (ST)- Hundreds of families, previously displaced by terrorist groups, returned to their houses in al-Bowedha town in Damascus Countryside within the framework of the Syrian government’s efforts to restore normal life to areas liberated from terrorism by the Syrian Arab army.
SANA reporter said that the families’ return came after several meetings held by the reconciliation committees in the town with concerned parties in the governorate of Damascus Countryside and the Ministry of State for National Reconciliation Affairs with the purpose of meeting the town’s needs and rehabilitating its infrastructure which was destroyed by the terrorists.
The returnees, who expressed happiness over returning home after five years of displacement, stressed that they will work with the Syrian army hand in hand to protect and rebuild the town.
National Reconciliation Minister Ali Haidar said the return of al-Bowedha locals to their houses came after security and stability was restored to the town and logistic issues were prepared to welcome the returnees.
Governor of Damascus Countryside Alaa Ibrahim said “we are keen on ensuring all the services including roads, schools, water and electricity and we hope that normal life will return soon.”
