Humanitarian aid and gifts for Syrian children from Russian Ingushetia

Moscow (ST): The authorities of the Russian Republic of Ingushetia announced their intention to send humanitarian aid and gifts to Syrian children on the occasion of the New Year.

Sputnik news agency quoted the press office of the President of the Republic of Ingushetia as saying in a statement today that “before the New Year holidays, the Ingushetia authorities will buy a thousand backpacks containing school supplies for Syrian children, in addition to gifts of sweets.”

Ingush President Mahmud Ali Kalimatov pointed out that this measure is an expression of contribution to strengthening friendship between Russia and Syria, expressing his hope that these gifts will bring joy to children for New Year’s Eve.

It is noteworthy that gifts will be sent to nine Syrian governorates on December 20 from Chkalovsky Airport on a special flight of the Russian Defense Ministry.

Since 2017, Ingushetia has provided more than 100 tons of food baskets to residents of different regions of Syria through about 12 humanitarian operations.
