HRC debates establishing shelters near Syria’s borders

 

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Local Administration Ministry is to set up shelters on borders within  Syria to host the Syrian displaced citizens who want to back home  under the endorsed political plan.

This suggestion was discussed during the High Relief Committee’s meeting held on Wednesday.

It is reported that more than half million Syrian citizens have fled their homes in volatile areas and headed to Lebanon, Turkey, and Iraq, where they are living in appalling conditions in makeshift camps.

Ministry of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Affairs has recently formed a committee to supervise the return of displaced citizens to homeland and offer  facilities to them. 

The Committee also asked circles concerned to define the displaced citizens’ basic needs to receive them from Industry Ministry to be distributed by the Syria Arab Red Crescent  in all shelters across Syria.

The HRC headed by Labour and Social Affairs Minister is providing displaced and affected citizens with food and medicine. It includes representatives from popular organizations, vocational unions, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, and  NGO’s .

Besides, it contains representatives from Ministries of Interior, Health, Local Administration, Education, National Reconciliation, Awqaf, and Labour and Social Affairs.
