BEIRUT, (ST) _ Former Lebanese Prime minister, Dr. Salim Hoss, and Secretary General of the Nation movement in Lebanon, Sheikh Abdul Nasser Jabri stressed the need for communication, cooperation and coordination between the Syrian and Lebanese governments to eliminate terrorists, who are stationed on both sides of the two countries borders.
Following their meeting yesterday, Jabri explained that al-Hoss stressed that such contact is essential and in the interests of Lebanon and Syria in order to eliminate terrorists and prevent their infiltration, pointing out that his meeting dealt with the US- Zionist role, and emphasis was put on the need to support the Lebanese army and security forces against criminal terrorist organizations.
Jabri also pointed to the importance of coordination with the Syrian government “to address the issue of displaced Syrians and maintain understanding over actions,adding that the meeting with Hoss also noted the need to elect a new president for Lebanon.
Noteworthy, that Lebanon is currently in a state of presidential vacancy due to repeated failure of its parliament to elect a new president in several sessions held due to lack of a quorum at each meeting to ensure the presence of 86 deputies.
Meantime, former Lebanese MP Emile Emile Lahoud called for coordination between the Syrian and Lebanese armies to challenge terrorism, stressing that the lack of coordination increases the risk of terrorism, which Lebanon and its people are experiencing, especially that the Syrian Army has the information and expertise in fighting terrorist organizations.
In a statement yesterday, Lahoud said that the legitimacy of the Syrian state had become dedicated and evident worldwide, especially as the battle in Syria has determined the course of the new international map.
