Every year we celebrate this blessed day, Palm Sunday, when Jesus Christ entered Jerusalem not in a carriage covered with gold nor on his horse holding his sword in a showy and heroic manner , but meekly. The disciples brought him a colt and put on it their garments for him to sit as a great multitude followed him spreading their garments and branches of Palm trees, saying “Hosanna in the highest, blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord”.
The preparations in Bloudan today were amazing as you see the children holding their candles and branches of olive praising God with their angelic voices.
One of the worshippers in the Nazarene Evangelic Church, Souleen Eid, said: “We decorated the church in a simple way in order to simulate the simplicity of Christ entering Jerusalem. The palm branches were the main part of the decoration with white tulle.”
“The also made crowns made of olive branches for the children to wear, in addition to making a colt out of cardboard with one of our children dressed in it as they entered the church in a procession just like the entrance of Christ followed by the multitude,” she added.
Not to forget the scout of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and their hard work as they played music pieces and symphonies .
It is noteworthy that all the sects in Bloudan are united in celebrating Palm Sunday and Resurrection Day.
