Holding presidential elections in Syria is the Syrians’ exclusive right

Chief Editor of the Russian ” Russkij Vestnik” newspaper and member of the Russian Writers’ Union Boris Zemtsov has stressed that holding presidential elections in Syria is the exclusive right of the Syrian people, reiterating that no party in the world can impose its will on the Syrians in this regard.

Zemtsov said in an interview with SANA correspondent in Moscow that he is confident that the upcoming elections will be conducted successfully within an atmosphere of transparency, honesty and pluralism.

The senior Russian journalist asserted that Syria has confronted global terrorism, overcome all other challenges and achieved major victories on several fronts.

He condemned the Turkish regime’s repeated attempts to revive the ottoman colonialist policy in the region, stressing that this policy is doomed to failure.

Zemtsov also condemned the Israeli occupation’s colonialist expansionist goals which Israel seeks to implement through targeting the peoples in Syria, Palestine and other countries of the region.
