Hmeimim air defenses shoot down a drone launched by terrorist organizations

 Moscow, (ST) – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the air defense systems in Hmeimim base shot down a drone launched by the terrorist organizations deployed in Idlib towards the base in the countryside of Latakia.

The ministry indicated in a statement published on its website today that “at 12:30 p.m. a drone launched from the territories controlled by terrorist organizations in Idlib de-escalation zone was tracked”

 

The statement added that the “Pantsir-S” air defense system at the base destroyed the air target at a distance from the base. It stressed that, there were no casualties or material damages were reported as theHmeimim base continues to operate normally.

Over the past months, air defenses thwarted dozens of attempts by terrorist groups to attack safe areas and villages in the countryside of Latakia and the Hmeimim base using drones carrying bombs and rocket-propelled grenades from their areas of deployment in the countryside of Idlib and Lattakia.
