Here’s how Israel’s emerging Holocaust against Gaza Strip could lead to regional war
The chances of the outbreak of a regional war can swiftly move from low to high intensity, if the danger of forced population transfer is imminent, and it seems so, and if the Arab world (regimes in particular) plus the so-called international community do not stop Israel’s emerging Holocaust against the Gaza strip and if the Palestinian resistance will be unable to move due to the horrendous destruction.
This is what the Palestinian-British academician Prof. Makram Khoury-MaChool said in response to Syria Times’s question about the possibility of the outbreak of a regional war after the “ Operation Al-Aqsa Flood”.
The professor indicated that at times political actors (state and non-state actors) plan for wars intentionally but war doesn’t take place. However, at times they do not plan for a war but the dynamics on the ground (normally mistakes and miscalculations) lead to an actual physical armed war “spontaneously”.
“What is happening currently in the besieged Palestinian Gaza Strip is similar to Leningrad siege (872 days…8.9.1941-27.01.1944) albeit on a smaller geographical scale although the bombs that the US dropped in one year on Afghanistan, the Israeli occupation has dropped in 6 days on the Gaza Strip,” he asserted.
Prof. Khoury-MaChool, who is specialized in International Relations and political communications asserted that US sending weapons, political communication support and physical visits of its leading ministers (Blinken and Austin) indicate several elements:
1. Israel’s lobby is in control of US foreign police.
2. Jewish money dictates in this bipolar confrontation (including that of Ukraine) NATO’s foreign policy.
3. The Israeli occupation is still the main agent of the US/NATO in the Arab World.
4. Despite the decrease of the US need for Gulf oil and its will to leave the Middle East, Israel still calls the shots.
5. The US still wants to operate against Russia and China in the region especially in Syria, Lebanon and Iran.
6. Despite the propaganda about the might of the Israeli occupation we notice a huge weakness in its performance, technology and equipment.
In this context, the Brazilian journalist and geopolitical analyst, Pepe Escobar, said The Israelis have now invoked the rhetoric of a “Pearl Harbor.” This is as threatening as it gets. The original Pearl Harbor was the American excuse to enter a world war and nuke Japan, and this “Pearl Harbor” may be Tel Aviv’s justification to launch a Gaza genocide.
“Sections of the west applauding the upcoming ethnic cleansing – including Zionists posing as “analysts” saying out loud that the “population transfers” that began in 1948 “must be completed” – believe that with massive weaponry and massive media coverage, they can turn things around in short shrift, annihilate the Palestinian resistance, and leave Palestinian resistance’s allies like Hezbollah and Iran weakened,” he said.
Escobar pointed out that since the 7th of October, 2023 [ The start of the Operation Al-Aqsa Flood], the war in Ukraine has been completely forgotten and the global focus has shifted from Ukraine to Palestine by western mainstream media.
“Their Ukraine Project has sputtered, leaving not just egg on powerful faces, but entire European economies in ruin. Yet as one door closes, another one opens: Jump from ally Ukraine to ally Israel, and hone your sights on adversary Iran instead of adversary Russia.”
A peaceful West Asia means Syria reconstruction
“There are other good reasons to go all guns blazing. A peaceful West Asia means Syria reconstruction – in which China is now officially involved; active redevelopment for Iraq and Lebanon; Iran and Saudi Arabia as part of BRICS 11; the Russia-China strategic partnership fully respected and interacting with all regional players, including key US allies in the Persian Gulf,” he added.
It is worthy to note that the launch date of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was conditioned by two triggering factors.
First was Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flaunting his ‘New Middle East’ map at the UN General Assembly in September, in which he completely erased Palestine and made a mockery of every single UN resolution on the subject.
Second are the serial provocations at the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, including the straw that broke the camel’s back: two days before Al-Aqsa Flood, on 5 October, at least 800 Israeli settlers launched an assault around the mosque, beating pilgrims, destroying Palestinian shops, all under the observation of Israeli security forces.
Everyone with a functioning brain knows Al-Aqsa is a definitive red line, not just for Palestinians, but for the
This new arena of confrontation will ignite further competition between the Atlanticist and Eurasian blocs. These fights are increasingly zero-sum ones; as in Ukraine, only one pole can emerge strengthened and victorious., according to Escobar.
