Health Ministry, UK-Med and Cadus Organizations Discuss Supporting the Health Sector in Syria

Dr. Zuhair Qarat, the Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health, met today with a delegation from the British organizations UK-Med and Cadus, which provide emergency health response services.

Talks dealt with ways to enhance and support the health sector in Syria, particularly in terms of human resources and general needs.

During the meeting held at the ministry, both sides discussed the needs of the health sector and identified priorities for starting a new partnership with these organizations after completing the legal procedures.

The delegation expressed its readiness to support the health sector in Syria in terms of rapid emergency response by providing consumables, medications, and equipment, as well as contributing to the rehabilitation and restoration of health facilities. They also emphasized support for primary and secondary healthcare programs, referral systems, and emergency services.

Qarat stressed the importance of partnering with entities and organizations that provide healthcare to individuals affected by disasters or conflicts, highlighting the necessity of exchanging innovative and sustainable projects which focus on medical care.
